Harriet has painted and drawn since she was a child, being first taught to paint with watercolour by her granny and then studying art at school. She continued to draw in her spare time while reading law at the University of Edinburgh, throughout her legal traineeship and while she was working as a lawyer.

In her early years Harriet preferred drawing landscapes and buildings, working nearly always in pencil and very occasionally in watercolour. She now mainly paints with oil. Harriet has continued to focus on landscapes.

Harriet has done several painting and drawing courses at both Edinburgh College of Art and Leith School of Art, and her art was featured in British Vogue in 2017. She competed as a wildcard artist in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2016.

Born and brought up in Aberdeen, this Scottish artist now lives and works in Edinburgh from her home studio.
